Brief narrative

Some 350 families totalling 1,400 people have arrived Otash camp in the South Darfur capital of Nyala from eastern Jebel Marra and North Darfur over the past two weeks.

One of the sheikhs of the camp told Radio Dabanga that the families arrived from areas of Sabon El Fahur, Fanaga, Keira, Fiena, eastern Jebel Marra, and Sheena area of Kabkabiya locality in North Darfur.

The Sheikh appealed to authorities and humanitarian organizations to speed up provision of assistance to newly displaced people, most of whom are women, children and the elderly.
