Destruction, Resistance, and Rebuilding in Gaza

War is not only fought with weapons; it is also waged through space. Gaza’s destruction is more than just rubble; it’s an assault on a people’s ability to exist, rebuild and return. “Architecture can be a form of resistance,” says Adam Khan, a volunteer architect with the Architects for Gaza team.

In the face of devastation, the group is turning to innovative designs and solidarity to reclaim space, culture and hope. This is not just reconstruction; it’s a fight for survival and identity.

In a video presentation (Episode I) by Architects for Palestine, the group explores how architecture lies at the heart of Israel’s onslaught on Gaza, and how, even amid devastation, architecture also becomes a powerful form of resistance against erasure.
